Where's Ringo? is a Melbourne-based 3-piece band playing the biggest hits of The Beatles and the best songs of the 60's.We specialise in the sort of gigs that the full tribute show bands can’t do.
Too expensive?
No problem. As a smaller 3 piece band who do their own PA, lighting and production, Where’s Ringo? can keep costs down for you.
Too loud?
No problem. As our drums are pre-recorded on a backing track there’s no noisy drummer trying to deafen everyone. Where’s Ringo? can play as quiet or loud as you need!
Too big?
No problem. No drum kit or ridiculous sized PA system means Where’s Ringo? can squeeze into a smaller area.
The original line up of Where’s Ringo? started back in 1995 and over the years saw many different members come and go.
However by around 2007, Where’s Ringo’s founding member had decided to move on to pursue other avenues. For now, Where’s Ringo? ceased to be.
But at the beginning of 2015, after 10 years managing and playing drums in Melbourne’s Premier Beatles Tribute Band, The Melbeats (Melbourne Beatles), Lee unexpectedly found himself without a band. A friend then suggested to him that he should revive Where’s Ringo? as it was such a great concept and had always been very successful. Lee had previously done the “John” role in Where’s Ringo? back in 2003-2004 so it was exciting for him to be picking up the Rickenbacker guitar again and stepping out from behind the drums.
Lee made a few calls and soon got on to former original Where’s Ringo? member, Hammond Robinson. Hammond had also played guitar with “early Beatles” cover band, Backbeat, but by February 2015 was ready to “get back” into joining the new Where’s Ringo? line-up. The George role had now been filled.
It was then time to find “our Paul” for bass guitar duties. After performing for a while in a Melbourne based Rolling Stones tribute band, Rod was only too familiar with all the music of the 60s and especially loved The Beatles. When approached to join the new Where’s Ringo? line-up, Rod was keen to step in.
After a few months rehearsing and building up the set list, the gigs started to come. But in March 2017, Hammond decided it wasn’t for him and bowed out of the band. Auditions were held but the right person for the job was proving to be elusive. Eventually though, Peter Watts, guitarist and vocalist with “Rubber Soul - The Beatles Show” put his hand up for the job and by May 2017 the trio was once again complete and ready to rock!
